Be comfortable, lying, sitting or standing…anywhere is okay…
Visualise OM surrounding you…by drawing a large OM sign in each of the seven directions around you…
The easiest way to do this is to face the direction the Sun rises in, East, and draw an OM symbol…
· In front of you (East)
· To the right of you (South)
· Behind you (West)
· To the left of you (North)
· Above your head
· Below your feet
· Within yourself
Place your hands over your heart to self-heal, bring into your thought world problems that make you feel angry, fearful, powerless, sad or any other negative feeling.
While you are thinking of these situations continue to visualise OM symbols surrounding and filling you with healing light…
The situations will start to fade in the face of OM.
Practise this method regularly to keep your energy centred and stable in the face of World troubles.
OM is symbolises the oneness that we are and connects you to it…
OM also…
OM purifies, protects, seals and stabilises the Aura…
OM opens the crown chakra…
When drawn above ones head, OM opens a pathway to God and Higher consciousness…
Work with OM wherever and whenever you would work with the Master Symbols.
OM does come into treatments often, work with it happily if it comes into your mind…
It is beautiful to fill a room with the energy of OM – send OM symbols into the space, with other Reiki symbols if you like – excellent for groups of people.
It is equally healing to visualise OM in your mind spaces where groups of people come into your thoughts, while you’re sending Reiki or just thinking (or being forced to think (i.e. news pictures)) about the World.

There is no problem at all with people exploring some of the best bits of some ancient understandings and putting them together to give an amalgamation of wisdom which suits modern humans. Modern humans are confident enough to make up their own minds about formal established rules and regulations forced on them by those who claim to be able to get close to 'God'.
It should be remembered that much ancient wisdom was frowned upon by the 'churches' down the centuries and people were forced into majority religions by threats of violence and higher taxes in some places. Once in, the big threat of hellfire kept them in place. The ancient understandings of herbalism and treelore, for instance, eventually became taboo at the direction of the church.
It hasn't been made common knowledge that the hellfire bit in the Bible was actually written by a load of fanatices in Rome a few hundred years after Jesus died, and the symbolism within the book of Revelation actually relates to Rome, the city, itself.
There is no reason on earth to believe that the those who wrote the current 'Holy Books', and those who dictate to others according to what they interpret within those books, have got it right yet. Even given the authenticity of some of the origins of the stories, the way to Spiritual Wholeness or Heaven or Paradise is a still matter of interpretation; ask three people from three different religions.
It's interesting that given the chance, people stopped going to formal churches throughout the seventies and eighties and then began looking for spiritual understanding in a less formal guise.
While Reiki is not a religion; there are no rules or regulations and the practitioner or receiver does not have to be 'good' to receive it, it is still a link to an energy which feels good, heals hurts, relaxes the mind and in the long term improves the quality of life. It does this by helping to build the confidence to lift the spirit, it helps the practitioner to value themselves...not see themselves as worthless sinners or humble humans.
How sad that humans for all their abilities to create for themselves amazing lifestyles - wings, wheels and communications as fast as telepathy, for instance, - have been conditioned to think of themselves as sinners or humble...because this way of keeping the consciousness in a low place has also left within them, in a very deep place, an insecurity.
This insecurity is the basis of fear and hatred, through mistrust, and it's from this insecure perspective that leaders will attack other leaders, even in the 21st Century - when men have wings, wheels and can communicate as fast as telepathy - they are still at war with each other, they are still trying to build around themselves wealth which they believe is the answer to stability, and they are still prepared to war on anyone or anything that threatens that stability.
It's interesting that the most popular religions currently are the most insecurity based ones...even more interesting that the more judgemental a religion believes God to be, the more judgmental the people of that religion are...
There are those who believe all is within the Great Plan of Things and things are as they should be right now, it's true that humans are only now beginning to have confidence to let themselves think for themselves and only in the last few decades has it been accepted to question authority so maybe in the past humans needed to be held in place by the threats of hell etc.
In the past, reincarnation was banned by the church, who obviously awarded themselves the right to do so, because they thought it would be bad for humans to think they could come back in the next life and make amends for not behaving themselves in the present one. Nowadays reincarnation is a subject happily explored by people and they are able to judge the credibility of the theory themselves.
Here's an amalgamation to ponder, you can choose whether to believe it or not...
Heaven is an option on Earth at any time, and reincarnation is a fact...
so death of body just means consciousness moving on and eventually becoming the spirit of another body on Earth at some time...that would be a good reason to start caring for the planet now wouldn't it.

Early lessons begin to show the practitioner how emotional pain and suffering within their lives is because they 'want' things to be the way they want them. i.e. if someone is heartbroken because someone they loved has left them, the heartbreak is caused because of their wanting that person in their life...whether it suits the other person or not.
Kenzai means that each step is taken after the lesson of the last step is learned...Reiki lessons are learned like this, gently, once a lessons is learned, life begins the next one.
The word Reiki translates as Universal Life Force, another interpretation could be Great Spirit, from this point of view then the Great Spirit then is teacher. As the Great Spirit is in all living things, then all life within the sphere of a Reiki students life and beyond is potentially there to help them learn the next lesson!
